Owner: Evergreen Hospital Medical Center
Scope: $120 million, 570,000 SF
Notable: One of over 60 projects completed on the campus
Designed as community beacon, the new facilities reach skyward to preserve valuable open space. The ship-like physical structure of the building creates a graceful façade while enhancing interior efficiencies and preserving views. Brick bands, metal panels and glass relate to the existing buildings to create a cohesive campus identity. Within the hospital, patient rooms stack vertically above the surgery suites and Emergency Department, enhancing ease of use. A soft, warm palette and crisp interiors create a healing environment. On upper floors, patient rooms wrap around nurses stations, providing visual connection to all rooms, improving nursing cross-coverage and response times. As a symbol of service, the illuminated stairwell sends a message through the night that the lights are always on at Evergreen Hospital.
