UC Merced’s new conference center offers a unique and important opportunity to respond to the surrounding community in Merced and the San Joaquin Valley.
A CENTRAL HUB
As a regional resource, the new conference center provides the University and community a gathering spot to host events ranging from career fairs, research symposiums, and cultural forums to weddings. Located centrally in the campus, the building is designed with multiple access points to promote flow within the building and create connections to the larger campus.
The UC Merced 2020 expansion began with two key projects: the Glacier Point and El Portal Residence Halls. Upon successful completion of these sites, Mahlum was asked to develop a third building, the Campus Conference Center 3G, a fundamental part of the University’s growth.
