Brett Dunnam

AIA

Associate

“As a passionate designer, I have a constant curiosity that drives my interactions with the natural and built environment. That curiosity motivates me to turn complex questions and problems into functional and beautiful spaces.”

As a design leader in the firm, Brett focuses on understanding site and program from an integrated design approach exploring user experience, sustainable systems, and the nuances of technical detailing. He has taken on substantial design roles for a wide range of projects during his tenure at Mahlum, including a new middle school as well as community healthcare facilities. The compassion he puts into his work is equally paired with his strong building concepts. He brings clarity to his projects by providing thorough architectural details and an ability to clearly communicate them to his clients.

Brett helps lead Mahlum’s internal design efforts through the organization of individual project and firm-wide design reviews. He has volunteered for the Architecture Foundation of Oregon’s Architects in Schools and as a reviewer for the University of Oregon and Portland State University.

Brett received his Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Master of Architecture from Rhode Island School of Design. He is a registered architect in the State of Oregon.
