Simple materials and selective use of color combine in a sophisticated design that creates a serene environment to showcase an ever-changing inventory of tropical orchid plants. Within a limited budget, the design maximizes the sales area, connects to a small outdoor courtyard, and provides an office and workroom. Natural materials and colors harmonize and highlight the vivid orchid colors. To create a neutral backdrop, most of the walls and ceilings are painted a dark mossy green. The blue accent wall evokes sky; concrete floors represent stone; rusted steel plate fixtures symbolize earth; and wood floors embody the forest.
